South African Culture

Today is a day set aside to experience South African Culture! It is a glorious day here today, approximately 20 degrees with mixed cloudiness, a big change from Lloydminster! Our hosts at FCE have been very gracious and the facility we are staying at is first class.

Our plan for the day is to spend some time at the waterfront and then proceed to do some sightseeing near Table Mountain. I am very impacted by the difference between the "haves" and the "have nots". The squatter camp on the edge of the city is 20 kilometers long and very impoverished, while the waterfront area is very beautiful and middle to upper class. I can certainly appreciate the economic challenges that South Africa faces.
